This policy covers the CV Tonight mobile app (iOS and Android) used by diners, and the companion CV Tonight Venue Portal used by participating businesses to manage their own listings. Where a practice applies only to one side of the product, that's called out below.
CV Tonight does not collect your precise device location (no GPS/location permission is requested — city browsing is a manual button selection, e.g. "Palm Springs" or "Cathedral City"), does not access your camera or photo library from the diner app, does not use any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not send push notifications today.
Account information (optional). You can browse all of CV Tonight without creating an account. If you choose to sign up, we collect the email address and password you provide. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never stored by us in plain text.
Booking activity. When you tap "Book Now" on a listing, we log that click. Afterward, the app may ask whether you completed your booking, with an optional field for a confirmation number. This is self-reported by you — we don't receive automatic confirmation from the venue or ticketing platform. If you're signed in, this is linked to your account; if not, it's stored without any personal identifier attached.
App usage data. We log basic interaction events (which listings were viewed, which "Book Now" buttons were tapped) so we can report booking-conversion metrics to the venues featured in the app. This data does not include precise location or device identifiers beyond what's needed to record the event.
Information stored only on your device. Your category/city interest preferences, your "My Evening" saved plan, and pending review-request reminders are stored locally on your device (not on our servers) and are cleared if you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Venue Portal accounts (business owners only). If you're a participating venue, we collect your account email/password (same authentication system as above), the venue information and listing details you provide or edit, and any photos you upload for your listings. We also show you aggregated, anonymized analytics about views and bookings for your own venue.
Payment information. As of this writing, CV Tonight's optional paid "Explorer" tier for diners is not yet active — no payment processing happens in the app today. When it launches, payments will be handled by Apple's In-App Purchase system or a payment processor such as Stripe; we do not directly receive or store your full card number.
To operate and improve the app; to show venues how many people viewed their listing and booked through CV Tonight (this is the core value we provide to participating businesses); to let you save an account, sign back in, and see your own booking history; to prompt you, after a confirmed booking, with an optional invitation to leave a Google review for that venue; and to respond if you contact us for support.
Supabase, our backend database, authentication, and file-storage provider, processes this data on our behalf under its own security practices.
Venues you interact with. When you tap "Book Now," you leave the CV Tonight app entirely and land on that venue's own ticketing or reservation platform (for example Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, OpenTable, or Fareharbor). That platform's own privacy policy governs from that point forward — we don't control or see what happens there. We do add standard campaign-tracking parameters (UTM tags) to that outbound link so the venue can see the traffic came from CV Tonight; these tags don't contain any personal information about you.
Google. We display venues' public Google star ratings (pulled periodically, not in real time, from Google's Places API) and, if you choose to tap through after a booking, we link you to that venue's own Google review page. Google's own privacy policy governs your interaction there.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
Account information is kept while your account is active. Booking and usage records are retained to support the venue-reporting features described above. Locally-stored preferences remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the information above.
CV Tonight is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under 13. Much of the app's content concerns bars, nightlife, and 21+ venues. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we'll take steps to delete it.
You can use the entire diner-facing app without ever creating an account. If you do create one, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information at any time by contacting us. If you're a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing of personal information).
We rely on Supabase's infrastructure, which includes encryption in transit and row-level security policies limiting who can access which data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we can't promise your information will never be accessed by an unauthorized party, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
We may update this policy as the app changes — for example, once location features, push notifications, or in-app payments are actually built (see the caveats above about what isn't collected yet). We'll update the "Last Updated" date above when we do.
